Name: Doggie Easter Bone Hunt
Date: April 19, 2014
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM CDT
Event Description:
You and your dog will enjoy this canine equivalent of an Easter egg hunt as the dogs sniff out treats and prizes especially for them. At 2:30 p.m., there will be an Easter Bonnet Parade for your dog to show off his or her best spring head wear. At 3:00 p.m., egg hunts will be held in separate areas for large and small dogs allowing the canines to ?'hunt'? doggie bones and plastic eggs with doggie bones, cookies and other special treats and prizes. For a $5 donation per dog, dogs will receive the treats they find. If your dog touches their nose to a treat or egg during the hunt, you can pick it up and put it in their basket ? that is, of course, if your dog doesn't eat it first! The dog?s handler will receive an entry into a drawing for an Easter basket for either a large or small dog. The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photographs. For a $10 donation to the Humane Society, a photographer will take a 5X7 photograph of your dog(s) and family with the Easter Bunny and you are welcome to take your own photos as well. Your pooch can also enjoy paw painting a work of art for $10 or less per item. Humane Society volunteers will microchip your pet for $10 and you can have a custom pet ID tag engraved beginning at $4 while you wait. Bring your dog if he or she enjoys being around people and other dogs and is up-to-date on vaccinations. Your dog must be on a leash no longer than six-feet in length. If the weather on April 19 is very rainy or stormy, the event will be cancelled for 2014 and rescheduled for 2015.
