Calloway County Cluster of United Methodist Churches Ash Wednesday Service

The Lynn Grove United Methodist Church will host the Calloway Cluster of United Methodist Churches Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, March 5 at 6pm. The UM Calloway Cluster consists of each United Methodist Church within Calloway County. The Cluster is best known for its annual Live Nativity at the Bill Cherry Exposition Center. ?It?s a great Christian witness that 17 churches can come together for a higher purpose? says Rev. April Arnold, pastor of Lynn Grove United Methodist Church who will be conducting the service. This year, the Ash Wednesday service will incorporate some our newest Pastors appointed to our county, as well as the officers of the Cluster. Those participating are: Rev. David Albritten of Kirksey and Goshen UMC, Rev. Samuel Chambers of Bethel and Brooks Chapel UMC, Mrs. Lisa Chrisman of Mason?s Chapel UMC, Rev. Tim Palmer of Coldwater UMC, and Rev. Leah Wilkerson of the MSU Wesley Foundation. Music will be provided by Ms. Faye Nell Kelso and Ms. Judy Kelso. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent, the 40 days before Easter Sunday. This is a time of reflection, prayer, and penitence. This service begins our journey with the imposition of the ashes. ?Everyone is invited and welcome to attend. There are many who may be curious to know what an Ash Wednesday service is all about, so we welcome you to worship with us.? Lynn Grove UMC is located at 37 Browns Grove Road, just off Hwy. 94 West. Sunday School is at 9am and Worship at 9:30am. We host ?Mission Monday? every third Monday of each month.
